Megan serves as Open Up’s Fundraising and Community Director, connecting people, partners, and resources to help advance Open Up’s mission of making wellbeing more accessible for all. She leads fundraising efforts, cultivates community relationships, and works alongside supporters, businesses, and organizations to grow opportunities for impact. Passionate about building meaningful connections, Megan helps share the stories, vision, and community spirit that fuel Open Up’s work across the Pittsburgh region.
Open Up’s mission is deeply personal to Megan. Both movement and mindfulness have long been a source of healing and grounding in her own life, and she believes everyone deserves access to those tools. Her passion for inclusion is also shaped by growing up alongside her sister, who has multiple disabilities, which instilled in her a lifelong commitment to accessibility, belonging, and creating communities where everyone feels valued. Through her work at Open Up, Megan helps build spaces where people of all abilities can connect, grow, and thrive.
Megan's favorite way to practice mindfulness is through movement and everyday moments of presence.
“For me, mindfulness is about finding moments throughout the day to slow down and fully experience what's right in front of me,” Megan says.
Walking, strength training, yoga, running, hiking, and chasing after her two little boys help her stay grounded and connected to the present moment. She also enjoys savoring her morning coffee, meditating, and spending time in the garden, where getting her hands dirty helps her reconnect with nature.
A fun fact about Megan: She is a certified Second Degree Reiki Practitioner and a budding herbalist. She loves exploring holistic wellness practices and is always excited to learn more about the connection between people, plants, and wellbeing.
