Staff Feature: Meet Lorena!

Lorena Ianiro serves as our Community Engagement Coordinator. In her day-to-day, she manages digital communications and graphics. That involves marketing work, collecting on-site footage, creating printed materials, and assisting in Sunday Safe Spaces production behind the scenes. Lorena has a background in graphic design, and keeping materials accessible is always her priority.
Wellness and community are for everyone. As a neurodivergent person, kindness and adaptability are the most important accommodations to help her feel like she is an active participant in a space. Once she started choosing spaces where kindness and adaptability are prioritized, it brought her immense peace.
Lorena practices mindfulness by walking, reading, and writing. She likes to spend a little bit of time outside every day and fill each day with a unique experience that she can look back on. “New experiences help me process my surroundings more slowly and add a glimmer to each day,” she says.
In addition to the design of materials, Lorena thinks a lot about the design of spaces, especially local coffee shops. She enjoys trying different coffee shops and reviewing them based on numerous different factors, such as music, matcha quality, and ambiance, which she tracks on a spreadsheet.
