Mix, Mingle, Matter: Community Connections That Count

Mix, Mingle, Matter is an upcoming Open Up gathering focused on connection, conversation, and community impact. This event brings together local organizations and community members who are doing meaningful work across Pittsburgh to share space, build relationships, and explore opportunities for collaboration.

It’s a casual, welcoming evening designed to help people connect beyond their day-to-day work, learn about the missions shaping our city, and strengthen the networks that make community care possible.

Organizations in Attendance

We’re honored to be joined by an incredible group of partners whose work reflects the diversity, complexity, and strength of Pittsburgh’s communities:

• Pittsburgh New Church and School
  A small private religious school located in the Point Breeze neighborhood of Pittsburgh.
  
  

• Lawrenceville Corporation
  A 501(c)(3) community development corporation driven by the Lawrenceville community and focused on responsible, sustainable growth.
  
  

• Public Allies Pittsburgh
  A 10-month AmeriCorps program that has supported over 250 emerging leaders with the tools to create change locally and beyond.
  
  

• Amputee Aid
  Advocates and professionals committed to restoring mobility, independence, and dignity for amputees lacking access to essential resources.
  
  

• Impact Aid
  A nonprofit helping justice-impacted individuals rebuild stable careers through training, mentorship, and employer partnerships.
  
  

• The Kingsley Association
  A long-standing community center providing quality services and programs for local residents.
  
  

• Za’Kiyah House
  A Black-led organization supporting people experiencing homelessness, substance use challenges, and reentry after incarceration.
  
  

• BikePGH
  An accessible, transformative nonprofit working to make Pittsburgh safer and more welcoming for people who bike and walk.
  
  

• Homeless Children’s Education Fund
  A nonprofit dedicated to supporting the educational needs of students experiencing homelessness.
  
  

• Melanin Mommies Inc
  A community-based mental health organization uplifting and supporting mothers and children.
  
  

• Lawrenceville United
  An inclusive, resident-led organization focused on improving quality of life for all Lawrenceville residents.
